Abstract :
The performance characteristics of biased coherence estimators are developed and displayed as a function of the signal and processor parameters. Examples of biased coherence estimators include the magnitude-squared coherence (MSC) estimator and the normalized correlation envelope (NCE) estimator. Design parameters that optimize the detection performance in a given application are demonstrated.
