  • Abstract
The serial-parallel connections of switches are often used in electrical equipment. Power Parameters and reliability of such devices depend on synchronous operation of parallel circuits, especially during transient processes. The essential improvement of transient processes in parallel circuits (uniform distribution of currents in parallel circuits) can be achieved by coupling between the elements of parallel circuits. In the simplest case of two parallel circuits, two magnetic-coupled coils connected counter-wise can be used. the switching off This paper is devoted to investigation of switching off characteristics for vacuum switches, connected in two or more parallel circuits, The current fall rate does not exceed the nominal value 100 A□S in the conditions with pause of current. Accordingly, the recovery time of vacuum switches is approximately 100 □s. The other parameters of switches were chosen so that the commutation unit on the base of vacuum switches would be alternative to the thyristor switch used in the power supply systems of ITER tokamak.
