Abstract :
The internal data of a solid model in commercial CAD software are very difficult to be exchanged with other application systems for regenerating the B-rep model. This paper presents two methods for automatically generating the B-rep model of a part´s body from the IGES file. The first method is based on IGES 4.0, in which the constructive solid geometry model is first created from the IGES file, then the B-rep model can be automatically generated. The second one is based on IGES 5.1, in which the B-rep model can be obtained from the IGES file directly. Finally, some examples are presented
