Abstract :
The Laplacian method is commonly used for edge-detection of objects in the field of signal processing. This paper shows that the Second Residual method of the Rapid Estimation Scheme gives lower covariances, and consequently has smaller false-alarm and miss probabilities, in comparison with the one dimensional Laplacian method.
