Abstract :
Structural reorganizations of neuronal interconnections in singular projection modules forming specific representation matrix in brain screen construction for receptors of sensor organs is evidently a prime consideration in study of neuronal mechanisms of conditioned reflex. Known examples of such modules are functional columns, nested concentric rings in representation of extremity articulations, barrels in the rodent somatosensory cortex. The authors used multielectrode scanning in their study of ensemble mosaic plasticity. Using this approach they investigated: (i) plastic reorganizations of input, output and interneuron impulsation patterns in loci of conditioning stimuli projections located in S1 columns in rat barrel cortex, and (ii) structural reorganizations of vertical and horizontal intra- and intercolumnal connections between neurons at different stages of winking conditioned reflex formation
