Abstract :
In this paper we demonstrate the operation of a spectrum pooling system built from a wavelet packet multicarrier modulation (WPMCM) setup. The feasibility and efficiency of the proposed system is demonstrated through simulation studies. To enable the WPMCM system to co-exist with other licensed users wavelet packet carriers in and near the region of the licensed user spectrum are dynamically deactivated. The emphasis is on the application of optimal wavelet bases that have narrow and well-confined spectral footprints. Through simulation results the efficacy of these techniques are explored and demonstrated.
