Abstract
In order to regulate the false alarm probability of some detection systems it is necessary to estimate the power of the noise. But this estimation must have the Noise Alone Reference property, which means that there is no bias of the estimate in presence of signal. We present a new NAR estimation method. The idea is to use an inverse filter. At the output of this filter the signals appear only in some very short time intervals and can be eliminated by an appropriate procedure. Computer simulations show the good performance of this method.
