Abstract
Integer-to-integer wavelet transforms for lossless image coding is useful in many multimedia applications. However, the use of a fixed integer-transform in such lossless coders prohibits them from delivering the best coding performance for different types of images. Recently we have shown that for improved performance, the most “appropriate” integer transform should be chosen adaptively to match the image being coded. In this paper, we present an analysis-based approach to accomplish this in the context of lossless multimedia image compression, thereby further improving the performance of such a coder
