Abstract :
In the computational fluid dynamics study of hydrocyclones, the inlet shape is critical for the initial value of pulp. The 250mm hydrocyclone has been modeled by using the tool of GAMBIT, simulated the erosion resistance of hydrocyclone with different inlet through the computational fluid dynamics (CFD), meanwhile the classification experiments of hydrocyclone with different inlets have been done, compared and analyzed the final result, the hydrocyclone with new design inlet was more suitable for the flow rule of pulp, and had a better erosion resistance, which provided a scientific basis for the research of advanced hydrocyclone.
