Abstract
We consider the problem of combining conditional statistics that have been generated by local processors which observe the state of a nonlinear system and process their observations based on different nonlinear local models. It will be shown that in order to obtain the conditional statistics of the state of the system, some algebraic constraints must be placed on the choice of the local models. These constraints reduce to those found by Willsky et al [3] in the linear case.
