Abstract :
In order to reduce danger and cost in physical chemical process training and testing, this paper proposed a chemical process simulation system based on distributed virtual reality technology. According to characters of an existing chemical engineering system and functions for simulation system to be designed, a framework for data-driven simulation was proposed, and some related key technologies, such as modeling virtual environment and process path calculation, were presented. At last, a distributed interactive chemical process simulation system with abilities of chemical process training, monitoring, testing and replaying was developed. The system developed in this paper was put into practical use and proven to be helpful for chemical process training, design and optimization.
