Abstract
In this paper a new power control method for mobile radio channels is proposed and evaluated. Adjustment of power is done jointly through the knowledge of signal strength and signal-to-interference ratio (SIR). This new power control mechanism not only greatly reduces the likelihood of positive feedback but also provides enhanced system capacities
