Abstract :
The permanently increasing demand for high rate data services in future mobile radio systems requires an air interface which fulfills these requirements. The well known mobile radio standard GSM has almost reached its limits, because it is mainly designed for voice services and a small number of fixed data services. The future mobile radio system which provides many different services at high data rates and a maximum of flexibility can be realized by enhancing the present GSM system by evolutionary CDMA schemes. The management of the complex multiple access scheme is done by protocols. In this paper, the demands on protocols for future mobile radio systems considering especially CDMA are shown. Furthermore, a minimum set of protocols which is necessary to control a CDMA enhanced GSM system is shown. The modeling of communicating systems with agent nets is demonstrated
