Abstract
The use of pseudorandom numbers is not limited to cryptography. They play important role in many other fields, such as applied mathematics, numerical analysis, sampling, digital communications, programming, as well as for signal generation. This paper presents some applications of special class of pseudorandom binary sequences with adjustable switching probability (p-PRBS) in measurements and identification of process parameters, particularly in estimation of time delay. Both parametric and nonparametric p-PRBS driven time-delay estimation techniques are discussed.
