Abstract :
A new family of 16-bit microcontrollers, the Motorola M68HC12, combine the features of a general purpose microcontroller with those of a fuzzy inference engine, resulting in a tool that can greatly simplify designs of control systems. This paper briefly reviews fuzzy logic as applied to control system design, introduces the new microcontroller family and explains how the new fuzzy inference instructions can be applied
