Abstract
Rapidly oscillating system theory and a nonlinear reduced order observer have been applied to the design of a new reliable and cost effective approach to frequency measurement or demodulation. The approach is based on a theorem of averaging for rapidly oscillating systems. A virtual frequency meter has been developed and demonstrated excellent performance in wide range of frequencies
