Abstract
The question of the approximation of infinite-dimensional linear systems by finite-dimensional systems is considered. In particular, conditions for strong convergence of the approximating input-output operators to the input-output operator of the infinite-dimensional system are provided. Examples where this property fails to obtain are given, and modifications which restore this property are indicated
