Abstract
With the purpose of studying the correlation between 9 clinical, electrocardiographic and hemodynamic variables, and the presence of late potentials (LP) or heart rate variability (HRV) abnormalities, 20 control subjects (C) and 48 chronic chagasic patients subdivided according to their degree of myocardial damage were submitted to clinical evaluation. Results indicate a progressive reduction of sympathetic tone, related to deterioration of the ejection fraction, and correlation between the presence of LP and the clinical classification applied to patients
