Abstract
Dynamic time warping is considered a superior way to perform time alignment in speech recognition. [1] Unfortunately dynamic programming algorithms require too much computation for conventional computer architectures to handle and still provide good response time with 1000 reference words. This paper presents a single chip that is capable of the performing the dynamic time warp processing necessary for recognizing 1000 words in real-time.
