Abstract :
The vertical load of aircraft is changing due to the lift along runway. Affected by traffic model of highway, load with fixed value is used as a design basis in present design theory of pavement and the effect of lift is generally expressed by lift coefficient. According to the Monte Carlo method, a Visual Basic program was written to simulate the operation of aircraft on runway. Accuracy of the simulation was analyzed, the results indicate that 4,000 times are needed at least for a good result. A simulation was carried out with Boeing 737-300 in an airport of Yunnan. The results show that the distribution of vertical load under different traffic is quite different and the lift coefficient can not reflect the changing of vertical load accurately.
