Research of Retrieving Model for Digital Library Based on Semantic Grid

This paper focuses on the mechanism of service retrieving, including its semantic problem. It first compares the differences between the retrieving model of traditional digital library and that of which based on semantic grid. And then it utilizes both the information grid technology and semantic technology in digital library area to resolve the interoperability issues and retrieval performance bottlenecks of it. At last, it put forward the framework and details solution of digital library retrieving model based on the interoperability protocol in the digital library and semantic grid technology. This Model implements service discovery via UDDI, uses lucene for full text retrieval, deploys and retrieves services through LDAP, and develops Semantic web Services utilizing OWL-S. It combines the grid technology and the digital library project together, and verifies its feasibility.
