  • Abstract
    Electrode polarization has been implicated as a possible cause of post-shock electrogram attenuation in transvenous defibrillation electrodes. An in-vitro mapping experiment designed to simulate the electrical activity of the heart is described. Using this technique, electrochemical polarization effects are shown to have a minor influence on post-shock signal amplitude
