Abstract
The Lyapunov spectrum gives a good measure for an orbital instability that is one of the important features of dynamical systems. When the Lyapunov exponents are estimated from an experimental time series, the data must be acquired and taken into a digital computer by using an analog-to-digital (A-D) converter. However, the influence of an anti-aliasing filter used in front of the A-D converter has not been considered in general. In this paper, the effects of the anti-aliasing filter on the calculation of the largest Lyapunov exponent are investigated with numerical simulations
