Abstract
An SVD (singular value decomposition)-based method for system identification which takes input excitation into account is presented. The performance of the SVD-based STC (self-tuning controller) is compared with that of the standard STC for unexciting reference inputs. It is demonstrated that the SVD-based approach eliminates parameter drift and greatly enhances the robustness of the self-tuning controller
