Abstract
The main reason for lumen reduction of the arteries is lipid accumulation in their walls. Diagnosis of this disease is possible by the application of image analysis techniques. A tridimensional representation of the coronaries (arteries that perfuse the heart muscle) is needed for their precise evaluation. The present research proposes a tool to evaluate 2D and 3D processing algorithms from angiographic images. ANIA (Angiographic Image Analyzer) is developed on a Silicon Graphics platform, in Object Oriented Programming, and represents an alternative tool for improving the study of the coronaries
