            Abstract : 
A moving object detection method based on the cellular automata is presented in this paper. The method set the initial condition based on the Frame subtract, then use the current frame grayscale value of the image to define the Moore neighborhood and a simple transform rule of cellular automata. At last, an experiment is given and it shows the method is relatively effective and has advantages in detecting the moving object.
