Abstract
A simple phase unwrapping algorithm is presented herein. The algorithm is formulated as non-linear system through which a sampled version of the phase is passed as a signal. The system is composed of three parts, a length 2 linear FIR filter, followed by a median filter, and a 1st order IIR filter. It is also noted that this system is an extension of a median filter in that it will remove both unit impulses and unit steps.
