            Abstract : 
Broad upconversion luminescence (810-1000 nm) was observed in Bi-doped germano-silicate glass fiber upon excitation by ASE source at 1515-1585 nm, which is responsible for the low laser efficiency at wavelength longer than 1400 nm.
