Abstract :
The error-detecting abilities of binary constant weight codes over a binary symmetric channel are studied. First, a necessary condition for binary (n,2δ,w) codes being proper is presented. Furthermore, for the case of δ>1, we obtain many meaningful results. We point out that the conjecture in the abstract of Wang and Yang (1994) is not true when δ>1
