  • Abstract
The speedy development and commercialization of the internet gives the idea of simultaneous transmission of data to multiple receivers, so that multicast communication model becomes a regular mode of communication. Multicast communication is vulnerable due to well known IP addresses. One of the main challenges for securing multicast communication is source authentication. Initially, it is provided by digital signature which is not efficient. Several others schemes have been existed for multicast source authentication such as simple hash chaining, random hash chaining, tree hash chaining etc. but each have shortcoming. In this paper, we are going to propose an adaptive scheme for multicast source authentication (AMSA), the results shows that ours approach is better than existed techniques.
