Abstract :
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a linearization approach in analog optical links with extended spurious-free dynamic-range specification based on the carrier processing in optical domain. By simply shifting a proper phase to the optical carrier, the induced third-order inter-modulation distortion is significantly suppressed. Experiment results shows that a fundamental to IMD3 ratio of more than 60 dB is attained and the link dynamic range is improved by 9 dB.
