  • Abstract
An instantaneous frequency measurement system (IFM) based on a double-sideband suppressed-carrier (DSB-SC) optical modulation and an integrated InP filter is experimentally demonstrated. The filter consists of a ring-assisted Mach-Zehnder interferometer (RAMZI) with a complementary second-order elliptic response, and a free spectral range (FSR) of about 46.7 GHz. Frequency estimation of a CW microwave signal is demonstrated over a 10 GHz bandwidth (5-15 GHz) with a standard deviation of the frequency error lower than 200 MHz.
