Abstract
We demonstrate using a photonic microwave frequency synthesizer based on a dual-pumped stimulated Brillouin scattering laser with Diophantine frequency synthesis, for a fine frequency step resolution. Output at 5 GHz is generated with a 184 kHz step resolution by using a photonic frequency synthesizer with a 10.3 MHz free spectral range.
