Abstract :
A discrete adaptive observer with exponential data weighting is developed for a single-input single-output linear system. For exponential data weighting, a general method of selecting the state variable filters is proposed. By this method, the state variable filters can be easily chosen, and fast convergence of all estimates is guaranteed. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by computer simulations carried out for a second-order system
