Abstract
The nonlinear analogues of three canonical forms used for linear singularly perturbed systems are defined. The two most significant of these forms are studied in detail and are found to reveal both slow and fast invariant manifolds of the two-time-scale system. The fast manifold is used in the analysis of a second-order process with integral feedback and a first-order process with slow adaptation
