Abstract :
This year´s Software Track is organized in 8 minitracks which fall in four broad clusters: distributed computing, mobile and wireless computing, computer security and information technology. These minitracks enable strong interaction among small groups of participants. In addition, this year´s conference includes a new innovation: autonomously organized workshops and more formal symposia. These forums provide greater organizational flexibility. Most closely related to the Software area are three workshops: Quality of Service in Wireless and Mobile Networks, Computational Bioinformatics, and Next-Generation Software Engineering; and two specialized symposia: Mobile Computing Hardware Architectures and Skilled Human-Intelligent Agent Performance. Finally, the program includes three tutorials which will be of particular interest to researchers in Software Technology: Computer Security, Semantics Web, and Wireless and Pervasive Healthcare. Papers in minitracks undergo a two stage review process ?? abstracts are reviewed by the minitrack organizers for suitability and then full papers are invited. These are in turn peer reviewed. The minitracks include 39 papers which were accepted out of a total of 76 full paper submissions (making the acceptance rate about 50%). Some specialized minitracks accepted most submissions, while others had acceptance rates of about 30%. These acceptance rates are in line with the goal of the conference to be open to broader participation and to emphasize new rather than established areas of research. Papers from several of the minitracks, symposia and workshops are expected to be published in special issues of journals.
