  • Abstract
Although the development of new medical technology has been responsible for the spectacular advances in the diagnosis and treatment of many human diseases, it has also been blamed for the increased cost of our health care. Concerns have also been raised that in today´s managed care environment of health care, introduction of new medical technology will be difficult. Cost-sensitive health care providers should consider various ethical and moral issues involved before demanding that only those technologies that shows highly positive cost benefit ratio and contributes to increased profit will be reimbursed. The impact of the future changes in our health care system on the innovations of new medical devices and their developments are discussed
