Abstract
Knowledge management is rapidly evolving as a way for companies to become more and more competitive and intuitive. There are many instances when there is a need for urgent and relevant information. A task may have been executed or handled in the past by someone in the enterprise. It may be there in a worker´s memory or some storage device lying remotely in the company office. It is crucial for the success of a business that such useful information is shared and traceable as and when required . The information may be distributed across multiple sources such as Internet, intranet, portals, project servers and miscellaneous storage media. Such distributed databases may be used for OLAP, OLTP and business intelligence. A popular software development and services company XYZ InfoSystems Limited implemented a knowledge management infrastructure to improve productivity and growth benefits that could be effectively measured in terms of value and business.
