Abstract :
The occlusion of the common carotid artery was used as a model of a mild ischemia to test the activity correlation analysis method which was developed to detect ischemic changes on cats related to the clipping of the middle cerebral artery. The parameters of the method were fitted after visual observation defined the target pattern. The time function of the product of regional correlation values showed characteristic changes at the time of the ischemic event. This later version of the activity correlation analysis represents a further step towards the development of a universally applicable real-time ischemia monitor
