Abstract :
In computing, a denial of service attack or distributed-denial of service attack is an attempt to attack internet protocol stack as well as system resources. Also DoS attack causes un authorized access to a computer system which makes the computer highly vulnerable. Existing system provide a good counter measure to prevent DoS attack by a time-out window. In this paper we have designed a rule on server side called RTB rule based on the existing paper. The rule combines the time out window, the request rate and threshold band limit. Hence, the client requests are processed with high probability. The server can easily find out unauthorized requests and process them. So the server resource utilization can be increased.
