Abstract :
Emerging mobile broadband applications including LTE-A and machine to machine networking are expected to be strong drivers to push traffic trend more dynamic and unpredictable. To meet such trend, optical back-bone and/or metro network should be more flexible and agile to realize cost-optimized configuration, even in that volatile situation. In this paper, I will introduce two aggressive networking techniques to meet the above ends. One is a novel wavelength assignment algorithm called Least-Fragmentation (LF) scheme which can achieves highest ever path accommodation efficiency. Another one is the Greenfield Re-grooming with Wavelength De-fragmentation (GRWD) scheme which can always provide cost-minimized network configuration.
