  • Abstract
Summary form only given. An arrangement of several time-sequenced adaptive filters (TSAFs) has been developed where all are synchronized to the QRS complex by the use of DUS (Doppler echo-ultrasound) echocardiography. The TSAFs are configured in the noise-canceling multireferences TSAF mode and in the signal-enhancement TSAF mode. Five-lead abdominal and chest recordings are required to feed the signals to the various TSAFs to produce a measurement system which rejects maternal ECG (electrocardiography) and enhances the FECG (fetal ECG). The registration of relatively noise-free FECG from several subjects has been obtained, and their complete FECG waveforms have been accurately reproduced with minimal changes of parameters
