Abstract
An implementation of the subband adaptive differential pulse code modulation speech codec defined in CCITT recommendation G.722 is based on the TM320C25 signal processor, and the program is written in its corresponding assembly language. The time optimization essential for a single-processor codec program is covered. Two aspects are presented: the implementation of basic operations used in the recommendation, and the structuring of the block definition of the coding algorithm to a sequential assembly language program
