Abstract
A PTCA reporting and information system was developed at Leuven University as a supplement to an existing coronary angiography system. The data stored permit a detailed description of the procedure, its results, and complications. Also, follow-up data are collected in the database. The system imposes systematic and standardized reporting by different cardiologists; it alleviates the steadily increasing administrative workload and is very useful for quality assurance testing as well as clinical research studies on patients treated with PTCA
