    This paper is an overview of optimal periodic control and periodic systems analysis, with special emphasis on the results achieved in the last decade. The main issues are: Necessary and sufficient optimality conditions. Quasi-stationary and high frequency periodic control. Proper periodicity. Structural properties of linear periodic systems. Periodic solutions to the periodic Riccati equation.
