Abstract :
In this paper, an analysis of the ripple components of the input current and voltage of three-phase voltage-source PWM inverters is presented. The analytical expressions for the input current and voltage ripples of the inverter as a function of the PWM reference signal are derived. It is found that the RMS value of the inverter input current ripple does not depend on the shape of the reference signal employed. The inverter input voltage ripple under several well known PWM reference signals are compared. It is found that under zero load power factor the RMS value of the ripple component of inverter input voltage does not depend on the shape of the employed reference signal. Experimental results are included to verify the derived expressions
