Abstract :
The electroglottographic (EGG) signal, as a second synchronized channel of information is used to segment the voiced speech waveform into individual pitch periods. Each period is further divided into the closed and open glottal segments. This allows the implementation of automatic pitch-synchronous analysis. Experimental comparisons of the formant tracking properties of three pitch-synchronous Linear Prediction (LP) methods are presented. The results indicate that the closed phase covariance method performs best. The closed phase method is also used to implement automatic pitch-synchronous glottal inverse filtering to obtain the glottal volume velocity.
