Abstract :
Proposed here is a handover scheme based on MPLS-COS forwarding and MPLS-TE in Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 networks designed to meet seamless handover requirements. This proposal takes advantage of hierarchical mobile ipv6 that uses hierarchical network structure to localize registration in one domain [1]. It uses Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) class of service (COS) under IP Layer to provide fast packet forwarding by means of preferential treatment of packets by examining traffic class bits (DSCP) of IPv6 header. Class Based Tunnel Selection Forwarding (CBTF) has the many benefits like segregates tunnel traffic, Controls tunnel bandwidth, Customizes CoS policies, Prioritizes traffic before it enters a tunnel. By using this mechanism, we can ensure that better resource utilization and throughput can be achieved during handoff in HMIPv6 networks.
