Abstract :
Simulation based studies are inevitable in the field of real time scheduling, due to the difficulty in remodeling the existing Real Time Operating System (RTOS) to incorporate new scheduling policies. This paper presents a real time simulator-ERTSim, which can be used for solving scheduling problems in the real time domain. The features of ERTSim includes: Graphical User Interface (GUI), synthetic task generation algorithms, modules for feasibility tests, implementation of task scheduling algorithms and generating execution traces for visual understanding. ERTSim is developed using structured C and C++ class functions.
