Abstract :
Software is being developed to provide interactive three-dimensional images of the eye obtained with multiplane very-high-frequency ultrasound (center frequencies near 40 MHz). The software runs on Pentium computers and operates on B-mode or spectral-parameter images. It includes facilities for computer-assisted segmentation, assignment of tissue properties (color and brightness), and isometric 3D presentations. To facilitate understanding of anatomic relations, interactive operations include simulated tilting, rotating, excision, and peeling. Biometric assays are integrated with the displays, permitting computations of volumes and surface areas of selected segments
